Lars Mohrmann appointed as new director of the H.E.S.S. experiment

Since October 1st, the H.E.S.S. Collaboration has a new spokesperson and director: Dr. Lars Mohrmann from the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics in Heidelberg, Germany was appointed by the H.E.S.S. Steering Committee for a term of three years. He is supported by Prof. Dr. Mathieu de Naurois from the Laboratoire Leprince-Ringuet, École Polytechnique, CNRS, as deputy director. Lars Mohrmann studied physics at the RWTH Aachen University and completed his PhD at DESY, Zeuthen and Humboldt University, Berlin. He joined the H.E.S.S. Collaboration as a PostDoc at the Erlangen Centre for Astroparticle Physics in 2015, before moving to the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics in 2021. Besides ensuring a continued successful operation of the experiment, his vision includes the preparation of a public H.E.S.S. data archive. For more information, see also this press release.
