Because of safety reasons and since the telescopes need to be protected from dust generated by vehicles, access to the H.E.S.S. site is restricted, and visitors need to arrange their visit in advance and be accompanied by an authorized guide. We plan to set up a visitor corner with display materials, videos etc; however, at the current time this is not yet available. Options to visit the site and get a tour of the telescopes include:
Tours of the H.E.S.S. site can be arranged at any time, provided that there is no conflict with observations or work on site. Contact Toni Hanke (+264 62 507 300) to arrange a tour. Access to the site and a tour of the telescopes and the control room is free. Visitors are asked to arrange their own transport.
